I know the USB connection is workin because if I switch to playback mode, my computer recognizes it, but I can't get my computer to even notice the camera when it's in camera (tape) mode. I checked the manual off the Internet, and it says that it should be in camera (tape) mode to be used as a webcam, and it doesn't work in (card) mode anyway.
I'm using a Mac OS X 10.4.8 computer and a USB connection.

last week, I made a 9 minute film on a DV camera and edited it with simple video editing software. I added a few credited and fancy transitions. The movie went in at 400 MB, but was finally rendered to 23.1 GB. It's slowed down my computer tremendously, and I obviously can't put it on a dvd. How's this possible?

I want to edit a movie but have been using USB forever. Quality is really bad when burned on a DVD. But looks good when not sent through computer. I have a camera that came out when firewire 400 was out so i guess its 1394a. Does the quality look better camera to computer to dvd. Or camera to computer to camera to dvd?

A few years ago I was trying to video tape my boyfriend in his truck because he was up to no good at the time I only could get close enough to record in night vision, anyways I completely forgot until recently and what it looks like to me is that he is in there with another person a girl! Problem is he recorded over most of what I got all thats left is about 2 minutes at the most of shaky film, is there anyway to view it more clearly?

I connect my camcorder to the PC via the USB cable. I have used Windows Movie Maker, Nero, and Ulead 9.0 (the software bundled with the camera, whose tech support is absolutely horrible), and have used AVI format to capture, then MPeg-2 to burn to disc, but the results are the same! They always come out either fuzzy, pixelated, choppy, or just plain bad... Help!!!!!

Office Depot offers a service to convert these tapes, but it is pretty expensive. Wondering if I can do it using my computer, using a firewire. Any answers are greatly appreciated.
