If it uses tapes and they are about half the size of a post-it note, go into your nearest electronics store (or go online, whatever floats your boat), and ask about a firewire cable (iLink and IEEE 1394 are the same thing, in case you see it). If your computer doesn't have one of these ports, then you will have to install an adapter card (once again, your local electronics store should have one), and you can have your friendly neighborhood computer guy install it.

If it uses any other kind of tapes, go into Wal-mart, go where they develop photos, and give them your tapes and $25. You'll get a DVD about a week or two later. You can do this with the first tapes I mentioned as well.

If it uses DVDs (miniDVDs, not to be confused with miniDV tapes), then forget about it. It's not worth it. Plus, you can watch it on your TV anyways.

If it doesn't record on anything, plug it into your computer using a USB cable, and it should show up as a drive (remember to turn the camera on when you do this). Then drag the files out and do whatever, edit, burn, blah, blah, and all that fun stuff.

If it records onto pieces of plastic, plug it into your computer, and do the same as the above.

If it records onto anything else, smash your camera against a wall, pull your hair, and scream at the top of your lungs about how you hate technology, how technology sucks, how things were simpler in the 60s or 70s, blah, blah, blah, yeah whatever.

Hope this helps!

What type of connection would depend on the camcorder type (miniDV, 8mm, etc.) you can try to download the users manual from Sharp's tech support website:

sharp did make more than 1 type of camera.... tahts like asking what your eye color is... i wont know until i get more information... please be more spacific..... im assuming its a MINI DV. therefore you need a FIREWIRE cable and connect that to your computer. no camcorders that are mini dv come with these cables but you are required to use the mto transfer to computers.

the best way to go is by using the firewire cable but in order for your cumputer to pick-up your camer you also need to instal the software it came with. Hope this helps.
