I noticed an I-link cable in the camera kit, but my computer doesn't seem to have slots for such cable

First of all, make sure you have ports. iLink is also known as firewire or IEEE 1394, so if you have any of these ports, you're fine. If you don't, you will need to go out and buy a firewire adapter card. That's the only way that HDV can be transferred to your computer. You can search online, or any major electronics store around your area should have them. If you're not too good with computers, it may be a good idea to have a computer shop or a friend that is good with computers install your card. Once it's installed, you can use the included software to transfer your video. Hope this helps!

YOu need to get a Fire Wire PCI card.

You'll also need advanced software like Studio 10 or Avid Pro or Vegas+DVD to work with 1080i

I hope you have a FAST P4 with 1 GB of RAM!
