The supplied JVC Software bundle, I have found difficult to use, and does not come with written instructions in ENGLISH?

most people recommend Womble Video Wizard or Ulead VideoStudio over the included software.

I have an older JVC model, but you can transfer the videos over USB. You should be able to browse/explore the camera after you plug it in. Look for the .MOD files, those are your videos. Then just copy them over to your PC.

The software I got with mine was Cyberlink PowerDVD/Director/Producer. PowerDVD will play back the .MOD files. You can use Director to import and edit the clips. And you can use Producer to make a DVD.
