i'm pretty new to real photography and i've just purchased an olympus sp-550 uz. i was wondering is it an SLR camera and if not, what are the differences between them?
also, does anyone if the lens is detachable and replaceable?
i've been trying to read up on the net about it but i get so confused!

I could use some help with which HD DVD player I should get for my boyfriend for Christmas. He has got a home theater set up in our apartment with recliners (with rumbling bass underneath), surround sound, a projector, etc. I'm not sure which high def dvd player would be the best considering the fact he enjoys watching a lot of movies. Any help would be great and thanks!

I'm most likely going to be making a digital TV purchase in the coming year, if I can buy one that's cheap and cheerful instead of forking out for a brand name then so much the better. Primary uses will be Freeview TV, DVDs, and video games.

I have a pioneer deck, and I found the tuner I need for it. It's 99 bucks. But i found one really cheap on ebay, and I really want to get that one. I just don't know how it works though with esn numbers and all. Soo, would I be alright with just buying the one on ebay?

32in RCA. My daughter...........after much investigating I finally got it out of her.

She apparently kept turning it on & off. Now when I push power it only makes a noise likes its gonna turn on but it doesnt. No picture. No sound. Nothing.
It just barely passed the yr warranty.

Should I just buy a new one, Im hoping its something small. When I called Best Buy they wanted to charge me $100 just to send a technician & have him tell me whats wrong. But come on I know its BROKEN.

PS. Im really dont want to use my kids Christmas money.
Any advice is greatly appreciated. Nothing rude though......Please & Thank You

I have a Diamond Xtreme Soundcard 7.1 PCI card that has a S/PDIF output jack. I assume it connects to the orange plug labeled "Digital Input, Coxial" in the back of my Yamaha receiver. Assuming this is the correct connection, do I need to buy a special S/PDIF cable to make this connection? Or can I use a regular cable with RCA terminations (you know, either red, white or yellow). In other words, is the S/PDIF cable different than the regular audio cable since they both have the same RCA type jacks? Thanks-
