I have a pioneer deck, and I found the tuner I need for it. It's 99 bucks. But i found one really cheap on ebay, and I really want to get that one. I just don't know how it works though with esn numbers and all. Soo, would I be alright with just buying the one on ebay?

with ebay you are risking that the model you buy does not work [therefore the seller might not take it back] plus it probably does not have a warranty.

this is one of those things that is worth getting the new product (from a reliable seller; meaning Sirius or an authorized dealer)

With all satellite radios or tuner upon activation the esn number on the back of the radio receiver or tuner will be registered. I would be hesistant to buy a used radio or tuner on ebay since the person who owns it must have already activated it before. For you to activate that radio or tuner, the person who owns that radio or tuner must notify Sirius and tell them that they are releasing that esn number to another user.
