1) Get your phone unlocked before you go (Nokia's can be done free over the Internet - others will cost you between £20 and £30 on the high street)

2) Remove your SIMM card before you go and leave it behind (you only have to 'register' ONCE with a foreign network and you will be 'done' for unanswered calls until you next register with a UK network again)

3) Either before leaving buy an 'International' SIMM card (see eg. Global link below.. others exist) OR, on arrival at the destination, buy a local pay-as-you-go SIMM card ..

Yes, it's not fair, the call gets paid for twice, once by the caller and once by the receiver.

i think they all do had a massive phone bill after last holiday people ringing me will leave it at home next time
