Call the number of your cell phone from a landline phone. If someone answers, ask them where they are and if they can help you retrieve your cell phone. If no one answers, then you are out of luck.

how would i know if you've lost your cell phone. instead of asking if you have, you should look for it and see if in fact you have lost it.

Call your mobile service provider immediately, so they can "lock" the phone. Some carriers, like Optus, can "track" the phone's location for you.

If you think that it may be in a close vicinity, then I recommend calling it on someone elses phone. If it is on silent, turned off, or you don't think it's close, you should call whoever you got your SIM card from and ask them to disable it.

Did you look everywhere for it?
I thought I lost my phone once but when I didn't stop searching, I found it behind my sleeping bag under my bed. haha
