Consumer Electronics - 6 November 2007

A faulty appliance (washing machine) tonight gave a very violent surge and tripped the safety switch in the breaker box.
My expensive SpeedTouch wireless router wasn't on a surge protector - and it's delicate circuits took a big fry-out.

After 4 hours of trying everything... it's finally struggled out of it's coma, but a real close call - so just a warning... get surge protector extensions for all power areas where you've plugged in your best gear.

Some of the channels are kind of scrambled and makes that awful scratching sound. It's not the satellite and the cables are correct. How do I fix this? It's annoying and the customer service people are useless. I'm calling on all you Yahoo! Answerers to help me, please!

I have had my phone for about 3-4 months and i asked my parents for texting. They said no so I asked a month later and again they said no but I said that i would pay for it on my own and i would pay for any over charges but again they say no. The said i have been very responsible with my phone and hows i use it. They said that they would look at textig in about 6 months again. Is there any way i can change there mind on this? that means that it displays 720 vertical lines. Vertical lines run from the top to the bottom, and they are placed next to each other. So a 720p TV should have 720 vertical lines, so it's 720 lines wide. how long the lines are defines the height of the TV. so when they say a TV has a resolution of 1024x720, isn't that saying that it has 1024 pixels across and 720 pixels from top to bottom? wouldn't this be capable of displaying 1024 vertical lines, or possibly 720 horizontal lines?
is it not the case that a 1024x720 screen has 1024 columns and 720 rows? which is why it is wider than it is high, i.e. 16x9 is 16units wide and 9units high.
I just don't understand why a 720p TV doesn't have 720 pixels counting from left to right, but it has 720 pixels counting from top to bottom, and claims only 720 vertical lines

I have them both and liked them alot. I like xbox live- rent movies and content download, but multiplayer is rare for most of us. Its made out of one fast paced server and not 5 like psn. So most ppl cant play online but they can play online with the wii and ps3. The xbox 360 fan support stiill sucks *** and seems like they got excited and just send them out without checking for problems. Xbox 360 has Hd- dvd support for games- note im not talking just about graphics pple but im talking about storage space- max is dual layer- 50 gig. The controller is way to expensive for wireless- 50.00- no motion sensor, no blue- tooth, only a vibrater that you wont notice after playing for a while. While the ps3 has six axis- and yes it works and soon tilt left and right will be lean left and lean right in game. Yes the xbox 360 has more games- but notice how they are short or are always missing something- while the ps3s are long and creative. Halo and gears- this isnt just game talk fans this is--

ok so i am crazy mad right now. i went to target to buy my ps3, games and other accessories. the total was around 600-700 bucks and when i wanted to use my debit, but it wouldnt let me because apparently i have a daily limit. now i have to wait to call the bank tomorrow so that i can get the limit voided and then tomorrow i will have to buy it. im so mad though and idk how i can focus in school and last all day and then i wont even be sure that everything was fixed. i hate card companies so much. what do i do or think about to make these next 24 hours fly by better and faster?
