Software - December 2007

Hi, i've downloaded a 6GB game to my laptop which is not compatible with the game (it's an ISO image), and i need to somehow transfer it to my cousins laptop which is compatible. He has an 80GB iPod, but apparently a maximum of 4 GB is allowed to be copied per file...My laptop has a DVD-RW drive, and i dont think it can read/write dual layer DVDs like the 8GB ones. I need solutions to get my game there as soon as possible, because i'm quite angry at his iPod as i waited for the download to complete for a whole week. Please HELP! is there any way to like transfer files using a standard USB cable, or something similar (nothing too costly - let's say under $20 or £10). I would appreciate any help you can give me...Thank You for your time...

I am currently using the new iWork '08 having chosen it over Office for Mac. The problem with both of these suites is that neither of them work with publisher files (.pub). Are there any Free programs that can either open .pub files or convert them into Pages Documents.

Need help with excel overtime formula

I have been working on this formula for 2 days now and i have had no break.

The parameters for the formula go like this:
After 8 Hours, the worker gets overtime at time and a 1/2 (1.5)
After 40 Hours the worker gets overtime at (1.5)

If you use a wipe and delete program to remove deleted files, can the system be restored to a previous date before the installation of the progrom to retrieve those wiped files? Thank you.

I am trying to make our own Christmas cards. The only problem is I have one picture with all of us and DH not smiling and one pic of just him smiling. I want to remove him from the first picture and replace it with the second picture of him. I have no idea how to do this and have no photo software. How do I do this and how do I do it for free????

I have an iBook G4 running Tiger. The hard disk filled up, and around that same time Appleworks wouldn't open. I assumed that was because there was no application memory, but other programs could run. I have now cleared off my HD; I have space again. However, Appleworks will still not open. I've rebooted the computer multiple times, and everything else seems to work. I can open .cwk files with TextEditor, but I would really prefer to have the use of Appleworks back. Help!

OK Last night I put a PP together. I imedded music to play throughout the entire show. My problem is that I want the slides to transition at certain times. When I rehearse the timings it's all good, but when I actually play the show they are all off. Any help would be appreciated.

I have xp, full of download problems, super slow online games and errors.. I went to get sp2 and I couldn't download ActiveX.. so i went to check if my xp is validated.... it's not

but the other day i found 98 backed up on my computer.. can I remove xp and reinstall 98 again?? and if so, is it worth it? I have noticed a stunning lack of spyware with xp

Fake Windows xp sp1 is problematic but at least it works, I do not wish to MURDER my computer lol

i lost my cd and now i cant get on. and then i tried using a sp1 cd from my old pc and that just left me in a place where i need the product key for it and i dont know what the product key is.
the computer was sp2 till i used the vista cd and scince that had a trail i tried the sp1 cd and that put me in a worse position. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i was running a system restore,i left room for 5 mins,came back and comp was on a black screen with - start in safe mode - start from last known good settings etc,i clicked start from last known good settings and after rebooting my comp it beeped-(or made a clicking sound) then went back to black screen with options - i am now on safe mode,this happened over 1 year ago and i had to reformat the hard drive-lost all my music files etc,after taking a long time to put them back i dont want to have to do the same again-any ideas what the problem is?? i have tried system restore in safe mode - the same screen comes up? any help greatly appreciated,ty.

i using Goalseek function in macro, it give me 'wrong' answer on what i supposed to get. sometimes it work OK, but sometime NOT. i notice this problem was effected by the Goal's value, as the closer the Goal's value i put, the best the answer i will get.
for example: in cell A1 i have a value = 10, in cell B1 formulae = A1/2, cell C1 formulae = 3*B1/4, I would like to seek C1 = 10, by changing A1 value, in my case i will get different answer in C1, which i supposed to get '10'. (note: this is only an example to express my problem, I having bite complicated formulae in cell B1 and C1).
does anyone has the same problem as mine? please advice.

ok so i use fasterfox to make it faster not helping.i don't have alot of extensions or add-ons so i know that..thats not it.i mean yeah it fixed the crashing but its really slow:( um im starting to think its bc of the steelers theme i added on.is it?um and i know its not my cookies.its just the new 2.0.0.11 is really slow.not as slow as internet explorer.but its still slow..i had to wait bout 5 mins just to load facebook.can someone help please?help me fix this problem?where can i send a feedback?bc it doesn't show up unless it crashes and it hasn't crashed yet.so where do i go to send a feedback?

I have a 74 slides in my powerpoint, it was 300mb. to make the file lower all the backgrounds and images i've used i've linked it instead of embed. It was perfect on my orignal file location. But when I tried to burn it on a cd, all the linked files are not showing even though i copy also the images that were linked? Can somebody help me why?
