I have an iBook G4 running Tiger. The hard disk filled up, and around that same time Appleworks wouldn't open. I assumed that was because there was no application memory, but other programs could run. I have now cleared off my HD; I have space again. However, Appleworks will still not open. I've rebooted the computer multiple times, and everything else seems to work. I can open .cwk files with TextEditor, but I would really prefer to have the use of Appleworks back. Help!
Oh, and thank you. :)

Hi,

There could be some damaged files on your Mac. If you have Alsoft's DiskWarrior I would run that.

If you don't have that, then open the Applications folder. Open the Utilities folder. Run Disk Utility. On the left side select the name of your hard drive. On the First Aid tab click the verify button. If everything is OK then click Repair Permissions.

If Disk Utility says the volume needs repair, then pop in the MacOS system disc that came with the computer and boot to that (boot holding the letter C down until you see the spinning circle). It takes longer to boot to a DVD, but once the installer gets running select a language. Then DON'T continue with the installation. Instead use the Utilities menu to run Disk Utility and use it to repair the drive.
