I am currently using the new iWork '08 having chosen it over Office for Mac. The problem with both of these suites is that neither of them work with publisher files (.pub). Are there any Free programs that can either open .pub files or convert them into Pages Documents.

MS Publisher is an oddball program with virtually no compatibility with other programs either Windows or Mac. I have seen very few conversion programs to open publisher files in any other software.
Adobe does have a converter to take Publisher files to use with Pagemaker. You can download the converter from Adobe.

Once you have a Pagemaker file you can open it with InDesign on either Windows or Mac.

You can download "viewer" programs that allow you to open and print.
