Hi, i've downloaded a 6GB game to my laptop which is not compatible with the game (it's an ISO image), and i need to somehow transfer it to my cousins laptop which is compatible. He has an 80GB iPod, but apparently a maximum of 4 GB is allowed to be copied per file...My laptop has a DVD-RW drive, and i dont think it can read/write dual layer DVDs like the 8GB ones. I need solutions to get my game there as soon as possible, because i'm quite angry at his iPod as i waited for the download to complete for a whole week. Please HELP! is there any way to like transfer files using a standard USB cable, or something similar (nothing too costly - let's say under $20 or £10). I would appreciate any help you can give me...Thank You for your time...

Plug in the ipod and simply copy the file to the ipod in your My Computer. Use it as an external hard drive. simple as that! i do it all the time. and what do you mean its not compatible. Just get ISOmagic or PowerISO, mount the ISO image and it will work :S !! If it still doesnt work, mount anyway, see whats on there, there may be smaller files, you could extract them and them copy them to the ipod and across to the other laptop within the 4gb max.

Use Splitter software to split ur big file 2 small parts. Then put small parts on different USB devices or put them on a couple of CDs or DVD. Then transfer them 2 the destination computer put all of the files inside a folder & again use Splitter to join the small parts 2gether. U might be able 2 download Splitter from internet. G'luck! :o)

Google for a file splitting utility. There are plenty of free ones around. They can split the file into, say, 2 3GB chunks. Copy them via the iPod and then use the utility to join them together again when they are on the laptop.
Or, burn the 2 3GB files onto single-layer DVDs.

The iPod route should have worked. An iPod is nothing more than a cute external hard drive. I recommend copying the file to an external hard drive, then attaching the external to your computer and uploading.

You need an Ethernet cable, simply connect the two computers together in a home network and then send it over.
Using some new DVD's you may be able to burn it as an alternative option.

if you want to run the game on that computer you can get a virtual drive (magic disc) that will mount the iso file as a drive(ex. E: F: ect up to four drives at once) and you can run the installer on that computer download from link at bottom then setup (as for transferring you can easily setup shared folders on a network)

if nothing works. then the only thing i can think of is a network!
are both computers have wireless? u can easily set up a wireless network and share files and folders this way..
.if not, do u have a crossover ethernet cable? u can setup a network using this..
good luck..

you could buy an external hard drive, becuase you cant use flash drives they will be to small, and when you get the external hard drive you can add the file to it then plug it into your cusins and play it
