If u wanna divide one of ur drive, then u can use the disk managment facility. But if u wanna add some more space or memmory to a pariticular drive ( here u mentined the drive D ) u have to boot ur system and change the partition. Then only u can bring some more memory to ur D drive. I am given abt Disk Managment blow for further reference.
In OS, we have a facility called Disk Managment.
Disk Management :- You can use Disk Management to create volumes, format volumes with file systems, initialize disks, and create fault-tolerant disk systems. You use Disk Management snap-in in Windows XP to perform disk-related tasks, such as creating partitions and volumes, formatting them, and assigning drive letters. On computers running Windows XP or Windows 2000 Server, you can also use Disk Management to perform advanced tasks, such as creating and repairing fault tolerant volumes.
Using Disk ManagementYou might need to be logged on as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group in order to perform some tasks.
Disk Management is a system utility for managing hard disks and the partitions or volumes that they contain. With Disk Management, you can initialize new disks, create volumes, and format volumes with the FAT, FAT32, or NTFS file systems. Disk Management enables you to perform most disk-related tasks without shutting down your computer; most configuration changes take effect immediately.
To open Disk Management
Open Computer Management (Local).
In the console tree, click Disk Management.
Notes
To open Computer Management, click Start, and then click Control Panel. Double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Computer Management.
For information about using Disk Management, in Computer Management, click Help on the Action menu

Right click on your Computer icon on the desktop and choose Manage
Then from the pop up window (Computer Management) choose Storage
Then choose "Disk Management (local)"
You will get both your drives:
C: & D:
Now in order to add more space to D you will first need to shrink C to make space. So right click C: and choose Shrink Volume
Now a new small pop up window will show up where you will need to input the shrinked space, so you do (And pay attention to the total volume space below to see what you are left up with)
After that, you right click on D: and "Extend Volume" where you input the amount of space to add.
Hope this helps,
