Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.
i tried this page http://support.microsoft.com/kb/926431 every step and it does ot work
have solve this problem or you know how solve it.
and windows firewall is turn off.

I know you NEED a decoder, and it doesnt come with Windows. etc. I got a free one online, but I think its now corrupted or something, because its not working.. How do most people get a decoder for watching DVDS? Buy one from a certain site?

I have XP and Vista, and I like Vista better.

Do most of the people here on Yahoo answers that complain about vista actually have it, or are they spreading the hype?

I mean, every piece of hardware I try is compatible with it, most of the time Vista just installs the driver by itself.
The only time that did'nt happen was with a printer, but I just went to the manufacturer's website and got the new driver and it works perfectly.

I don't know why people are complaining why it is so slow, it works fine with an AMD Athlon X2 5200+ and 2 GB ram, and even works on a single core cpu with 512 mb ram.

It has nice features like the media center, which lets you record and pause tv, something that mac doesn't have built into the os, the areo look and design, and direct x 10, great for gaming.

Security?
Just get free anti-virus software and a free firewall, and you are protected. (like avg and zonealarm)
and contrary to popular belief, macs do get viruses sometimes.

so right now i have 2 main computers that i use. one's running on windows xp media edition, and the other has windows xp.. (theres another one running on xp hope, but i never use that)...

so here's whats up. i pretty much get the jist of how to use windows and like fix minor problems with windows should anything go wrong. but i feel like its time for a change.

i was looking into the macbooks, but i really know nothing about them. i mean im sure all the programs run the same and it gets the job done... but from my standpoint, would you get the mac? or a dell running on windows? why?

by the way, i'm really into photography, pic editing and making videos and such. pic editing i can do just fine on windows.. but making videos is another story. you see, i have a sony handycam, but when i try to make a dvd, it plays kinda pixilated on my tv screen. will i have that same issue with iMovie?

and i currently attend school, and my school computers run on windows, so...

I have stupid vista, so that's the start to the problem. But I have downloaded it, restarted my computer and it says I still need to download it and Ive done this 3 times. So was wondering if anyone can help me to get it to work? TY

apparently, i can't get adobe flash, and i think my computer must be missing something but what? i already deleted my previous adobe flash (big mistake now that i think about it) but it should have been simple to install the new one. this is the site

Do you notice lately that alot of files on Veoh are .flv files? Why? I can't watch .flv files and I cant burn them on a disc.. and even if I could, I doubt my dvd could read it. Is .flv files a new thing? What do I need to be able to transfer these files to a disc so I can watch it on my DVD?

when i tell it to burn i get this...

this service can not be started, either because it is disabled, or because it has no enabled device associeated with it.

i have a cd/dvd rom. i have even used it to make ISO images with alchol120%. i can take movies and rip them to my computer as well. but now the first time i use windows media player it will not work. i can watch dvds but it wione let me burn or rip. i have no yet tried riping with WMP.
