What is the matter with these people, Vista is the finest operating system Microsoft has produced to date.

I for one have been using it since the day it was released.

OK. There were some incompatability issues, but nothing that couldnt be fixed by expending some of the grey matter.

Surely thats what computing is all about is it not ?

One of the great things with Vista is you need to THINK when you are using it.

Maybe some of these youngsters are incapable of doing that !

What are your thoughts?

I dont mind receiving insults in the answers, just as long as they carry some substance.

I for one am sick of reading VISTA SUCKS or VISTA IS GAY without some sort of reason for the statement !

Tell me if it can read and write Microsoft Office Word, Powerpoint, and Excel (like tell me how they are compatible). Also give me a descript review of Pages, Keynpote, and Numbers. And tell me if they are better and easier to use than Microsoft Office.

It all started with one of the 2 user accounts not showing up on the startup page. So it directly goes to my account intead of letting us pick which user to access. I solved that with restoring to the last date it was okay. I then renewed my subscription with my anti-virus program and it asked me to restart which i did.

Now,
1. There is only 1 use account seen on the start up page (good thing the files and documents for the other account still there)

2. The task bar and program icons do not load (ever) just the wall paper.

3. I cannot use the Task Manager because everytime i do CTRL-ALT-DEL it would say administrator disabled task mgr (but i'm the administrator!)

4. Tried running it in safe mode but then it does not load the windows xp. stays in the black page forever.

SO this actually means i cannot access anything. H.E.L.P!

I have already uninstalled and reinstalled java, I am running the newest version. My video card plays WoW beautifully, so this piddly little java game screwing up my system is ruining my day. Any ideas?

I want to get my dissertation published which means that I will need to send my manuscript. The only problem is that my dissertation is saved on my computer in microsoft works format. How Can I convert this to a MS WORD format. Please bear in mind that I have many photos, tables, graphs etc on my dissertation hence everything will have to remain exactly the same. All I want to do is to change the format to MS WORD without changing any of the actual work.

I have to create a toolbar which sort of acts like a filter. The toolbar has several options like when u click on the arrow, several options come up. It's similar to clicking the file command. I want to create something like a calendar and when i choose august, excel will lead me to the month of august. do give me a detailed write up as i'm not very good with macros.

I'm running Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 and when I open an Excel spreadsheet it always pops up a window like you're using the program for the first time which first says "Please wait while Setup prepares the necessary files..." then quickly says "Configuring Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007..." This process takes about a minute or two to complete every time I open an .XLS document from the explorer. It doesn't happen with Microsoft Word, only Excel.

Anybody know why this might be happening and what I can do about it?

I just downloaded a torrent Adobe Photoshop but the install notes given say: Burn or mount file with MagicISO. Install it. Use /sn.txt for registering. Could you explain that to me?? I downladed MagicISO but I can't figure out how to burn or mount adobe photoshop. If you know, please tell me . Thanks.

school just started, my computer crapped out, and im about to buy a new one with Vista preloaded. I'm not really in a position to devote alot of time to learning a new OS, i just want to continue what I'm doing and slowly learn along the way. How is the learning curve between the two OS's?

My fiancee just added more RAM (I have a gig now) and a new video card to my systerm, and now my computer keeps spontaneously crashing (well, at least booting me out of programs like Internet Explorer, Microsoft Word, and World of Warcraft). My C Drive is 74.5 MB with 43.7 MB of free space. I'm not running massive amounts of downloads or anything, just checking my email, posting on message boards, etc. with only one or two windows open at a time. What's going on, and what can I do to fix it?

Hi everyone,

I have MS Office 2003 Professioanl edition and was wondering if someone can help me solve an annoying problem with it.
When I start a document in print layout view. The cursor and words are really big and there is a line underneath the first word when I change the view to normal. The settings are 12 font and Times New Roman, but it seems like it ignores these settings. Also when it is in print layout view, the page is really wide. Does anyone know what is wrong? Thanks!!
