I asked a question like this before, one fellow told me to try restore point. Unfortunately, restore point did not work, are there any other methods that will keep my programs and files in tact without having to reformat my computer?

When you mean boot. Do you mean insert the CD when I have windows on? Or insert the CD and then restart?

You could try this:

1. Go to Start>Run, and type in "command" without the quotes.
2. Type in "sfc /scannow", again without the quotes.
3. If it asks, insert your XP CD.

This process may take up to two hours. Be patient!

Do the

sfc /scannow

utility, in the command line.

Follow the directions.

better post the dll error. sometimes the error is caused by another application than you run.
