school just started, my computer crapped out, and im about to buy a new one with Vista preloaded. I'm not really in a position to devote alot of time to learning a new OS, i just want to continue what I'm doing and slowly learn along the way. How is the learning curve between the two OS's?

Things are quite a bit different. Menus are located in different places, the control panel is bigger, and it is easy to get lost in the Start menu. It took me about three days to learn where everything is.

just saying.... vista sucks. but you'll get used to it. It's mostly the same fucntions and everything. You might have to search a little for a few things, but you'll get it.. And make sure you dont buy a cheap computer, cause then it'll be crap, and vista will slow it down a whole lot.
