Microsoft charges you $$ if you request tech support. Is there anything anyone may know about this without having to go to Microsoft?

Thank you very much!

Has anyone built or used any Intranet software before? I've looked at some open source packages that seem okay, I've tried Microsoft Sharepoint, they all seem okay but I'm worried about compatibility and upgrading in the future of this Sign Manufacturing company. Anyone with experience in Intranet development, please shed some wisdom on your process.

I am able to copy DVD’s onto my computer. How do I get it from my computer onto a blank DVD? I have DVD Decryptor, DVD2one V2, Rip it 4 me, DVDFab Decryptor and NERO. I don’t think I need anything else to burn.

Another problem I am having is when I open the movie on my computer it shows subtitles and I can’t get rid of them. It must have something to do with the way it downloads/burns to my computer?

I have no idea where to begin or what to do. Any help? All help? Step by step, if you can.

I'm trying to reinstall Windows XP on my laptop before selling it. However, when I go through the setup it tells me to choose from a list that shows the existing partitions and unpartitioned space on my computer.

So I have 76317 MB total size on this partition(the following is exactly what it says):
"C: Partition1[NTFS] 76317 MB ( 66526 MB free)"

I want to reinstall windows, so I choose the option that says "Set up windows XP on the selected item."
But then when I press enter on it, it then tells me this:
"You chose to install Windows XP on a partition that contains another operat. syst. Installing Windows XP on this partition might cause the other operating system to function improperly.

CAUTION; installing multiple operating systems on a single partition is not recommended.

To continue Setup using this partition, press C.
To select a different partition, press ESC."

So the issue I'm worried about is, if I continue Setup using this partition, will it result in two Windows OS?

I have an older computer, with Window's 98 or 2000. I spent 3 hours typing up probably the most genius piece of fiction I will ever write, in Microsoft Works Word.

After I was done (this is when I was stupid) I didn't save my work, but highlighted all five paragraphs, and selected "Cut". Then I was going to "Paste" into another Microsoft Word document, it would NOT even give me the "Paste" option, then I tried a notepad document and it still would not let me "Paste".

Is there any possible way I can get my document back or am I just doomed? Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks,
Emily.

I am looking at 2 comparably configured laptops (more than enough to handle Vista!) - one with Vista Business and the other with Vista Ultimate.

Which would you recommend? I do about 90% work/business tasks and the remaining for viewing, editing photographs (I also have Photoshop Elements 5.0). I do not have an xbox and don't plan to (mentions a media extender for Ultimate)

Which would you buy ... why?? Thanks-

Does anyone know what spyware is compatible with windows vista? I went to Best Buy and bought a new laptop. The people there told me that macfee, aol, and norton are not compatible with it. Is that true? Or did I get ripped off?...by paying the GEEK SQUAD 150 to add their spyware protection to it.

Ok so here is the problem... I have Vista Ultima x64... a few days ago the network icon in the taskbar started saying that I'm disconnected from a network... so my laptop does not recognize the network that I'm connected to, BUT the funny thing is that I'm still connected to the internet and my IE and IMs and everything works no problem... when I hover over the network icon in the taskbar it says:

"Connection status: unknown
No such interface supported"

I tried restoring it but I didnt have a restore point to fix the problem... so I'm kinda screwed... I tried to repair with windows disk but for some reason that doesn't even start for me... I want to reinstall clean but it doesn't let me connect to network to transfer files...
so...
#1 how do I fix it?
#2 I'll be installing x86 Vista fresh, if I can't repair my problem, is there a way to recover data after erasing my HD to do clean install? (I'll have Vista x64 after...)

I've used Eudora for years. Now with Qualcomm casting the program into the unknown, I need to replace the program. I currently have version 6.x and didn't look into version 7 until it was no longer for sale. (I don't want the ad-supported version, I would prefer to pay for the program just so I don't have to see ads.)

The replacement program must:

1. Import all of my old Eudora e-mail.
2. Allow me to select which e-mails to keep on the server and which ones to delete (POP3).

Any suggestions?
