Hi, everyone.

1 week ago, WinXP suddenly didn't recognize one of my partition (NTFS 40GB). It was listed with RAW filesystem (PartitionID still 0x7h which is NTFS), happened after restarting.

There's no sign of mechanical failure (strange noise/vibration, etc). Another partition works fine. I've tried reading it on another computer. No cigar

Cold-Boot, Last Known Configuration, CHKDSK, etc didn't work.

That partition was my backup. All of my files were stored there including driver/utilities/my data for the last 7 years (the harddisk itself is < 3 years old).

I've searched through the internet for any file recovery tools. None of them (around 3 - 4 tools) could see my files directly. They have to do some sort of physical scan first which would take hundreds of hours (??).

I don't know much about data recovery tools, could anyone recommend one for me ?

Also, I prefer not to move my harddisk anymore (in case it would provoke mechanical failure).

Vista Home Edition questions. How to activate the "bonger" that alerts you mail has arrived, and how to make email auto-download from ISP to the computer without having to hit F9. I'm using Vista's I.E. Explorer for web browser, and the full blown version of Outlook that comes with MS Office 2002 for email reader (and Word for email editor).

Well... i acsodently deleted internet explorer from with add and remove programs and i tryed to install it again but now it says its already installed.. yet i used the search on my PC and no files came up for internet explorer... help!! :(

my computer has been cutting off all by itself and when i use the off\on switch on the back it wont come on it takes a while and then it comes on why is this please help i need some answers to fix this problem its driving me in sane also when it cuts back on it sounds like someone is snoring in to the fan or something i dont know really weird is it a virus or bot i need help fast thanks

i live in jordan i buy a computer and let the saller put windos xp and after amonth i let him download to me windos vista ultimate i use it it was good the once when i want to start my computer like always it asked me for the pasword i enter it then when it was entering amassage apeares it was telling me that the copy the saller man download it to me is not genuene and ask me to enter the product key and tell me that the activatoin time has expired i dont know the product key and i cant ask the saller since that time the computer wont work and keep asking for the product key what shoud i do how do or how can i get the full genuen windos vista ultimat and i want it with the flip 3d program pleas i want thw questoin very fas t

i have tried NERO and total video converter but they take upto 6 or 8 hours to convert one feature length AVI movie.

Is there any AVI to MPEG conversion programs that can convert a 700 MB AVI in a shorter amount of time? say 1 to 2 hours or less?

i only have 320 MB of RAM and an Intel Pentium III processor on windows XP SP2 machine.
