try using the add/remove programs utility in the control panel
if its not listed there, try add/remove windows components in
add/remove programs

You need to be specific about what software you are trying to uninstall.

Usually, you can go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove and delete the specific software from there.

I you take it off you lose the full support from MS. If you do not have a valid OS taking it off stops the machine.
