I am looking at 2 comparably configured laptops (more than enough to handle Vista!) - one with Vista Business and the other with Vista Ultimate.

Which would you recommend? I do about 90% work/business tasks and the remaining for viewing, editing photographs (I also have Photoshop Elements 5.0). I do not have an xbox and don't plan to (mentions a media extender for Ultimate)

Which would you buy ... why?? Thanks-

Busniess.

Ultimate only allows file encryption; additional image editing software, and cd burning utility. All of which imo are complete junk; Nero is a better burner; Photoshop for pic editing ect, and you can get freeware file encryption.

Another reason is that in Vista there is built in online upgrades available; you can at anytime online buy an upgrade from Busniess to Ultimate; if you change your mind at a later date.

I personally use busniess and I love it; there's nothing more that I would use; and I'm a power user; video editing, security nut myself; I don't see any practical use for ultimate; atleast that's my view/opinion.

Cheers;

Hello There,
I have been using Vista Ultimate since it launched.. and i'd say if u see comparision online there are not much difference. So i'd recommende go with Vista Ultimate. Its because it covers everything.

business. it's going to be cheaper, and the microsoft picture editing software is crap, so your better with own anyways, which you probally have. ultimate has all the bells and whistles, but is more money, but no one would really use everything on ultimate. i have home premium and it's fine. both have the same security options and what not, both are very easy to store/search for data on your computer, so it's up to you. go with the more expensive one with features you won't use, or spend less and get everything you NEED, not stuff that sounds cool on the box but has no real purpose.

Honestly, I would not buy any system until Vista is updated or reissued with a service pack.
Win xp pro, would be the way to go.

If not much difference in price, go for Ultimate, so you wont need to upgarde again in case you changed your mind later.
