I have an older computer, with Window's 98 or 2000. I spent 3 hours typing up probably the most genius piece of fiction I will ever write, in Microsoft Works Word.

After I was done (this is when I was stupid) I didn't save my work, but highlighted all five paragraphs, and selected "Cut". Then I was going to "Paste" into another Microsoft Word document, it would NOT even give me the "Paste" option, then I tried a notepad document and it still would not let me "Paste".

Is there any possible way I can get my document back or am I just doomed? Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks,
Emily.

Dont do anything, go back to Works, and press CTRL-Z to UNDO the cut action, if its not too late, you have a fighting chance.

(or click EDIT at the top and choose UNDO)

OK CALM DOWN ITS NOT THAT HARD. WHEN YOU HIGH Light what you want then right click your mouse it should give you options DO NOT CUT, only select copy and then go wherever you need to to paste your report and right click your mouse again the options should appear one more time then choose PASTE. and there you have it. but be sure to save your work always. your welcome.~~~MACHELE

Have you tried un-doing?
And pasting back into the original document?
Good Luck!
