Software - March 2007

Ok, so I come home today from a match at 11pm, ready to print out my paper that is ten pages long! I was then ready to go to bed. However, when I logged in I was getting alot of random erors. And when I would try to click a program to run, I would get an error. So I restarted the computer and it said there was a driver problem, and so that I should run the repair disk.

So I put in the install cd for windows and ran the repair par but when I use the chkdsk command it says that it contains one or more recoverable problems.

So, is there another command I can use? Right now I am download this file recovery program. I am not sure how it will work, but all I really need is to get a few files out of my documents.

Also when I view partitions it says free space is almost 100%. Its like all the data is gone!

Please give me tips as this paper is worth 80% of my WHOLE grade.

I want to get rid of AlmightyAds Browser Optimizer and p2psoft.biz Browser Optimizer because I keep getting pop ups even though I've blocked them, and I think, but uncertain, that they are the caused since I've deleted Uptown Engine. Though when I press the remove button for AlmightyAds it tells me that the computer may not run like the same anymore, if I remove it. So I want to know what will happen if I do remove them and/or will it matter? Are they the caused of pop ups too?

I downloaded limewire and it was working pretty well but now there seems to be a problem. Everytime I boot my PC, limewire opens and when I close it a few seconds later, it starts again. Please help coz limewire slows down my computer's performance.

I am trying to delete Adobe Reader 7.0.9 from my computer, but every time I click on remove program it says there is a program using adobe that is currently in use. I don't know what it would be since I closed all the open windows. Any ideas?

Well i didnt know bearshare was free for only trial subscriptions... so now i have no P2P software. I need something reliable, has a great selection, FAST downloads, easy to learn, and is free! Please!!! Need answer fast ASAP! Any help would be greatly apprectiated!

By the way - I tried limewire before i got bearshare and its downloads were extremely SLOW... i dont know if its just my computer or what but I had some problems with it.

I created a line when I made a foot note. I deleted the footnote, but the line still exists. I can't get rid of it. I can't undo it either whereas I did it some time ago and the document has been closed, saved, and reopened.

I can make my column width fit my text / number entry exactly, by double clicking on the line between the letters (of the gray column reference at the top of the spreadsheet).
But if I double click on the gray row reference numbers to do the same (for wrapped text for example) this doesn't work - it makes them all a uniform height and only one line of the wrapped text is visible. This used to work and now it doesn't . Very annoying.

There's a lot of fonts on my computer that i don't usually use (like in Microsoft Word), and i found that they take up a lot of space, today i went to C drive -- WINDOWS -- Fonts, and i deleted many of those fonts. Now i'm a bit worried, is it gonna affact me when i'm viewing a website or a file or anything?
