I have Windows XP Service Pack 2 which prohibits me from downloading iTunes 7(it is a system requirement). Further XP upgrades aren't possible (the computer I use used to run on Windows ME). What should I do?

Windows XP SP2 should allow you to download iTunes, try updating through iTunes, go to "Check for updates" option and it will advise you accordingly.

Alternately go directly to Apple's website and download iTunes directly from there...the setup will overwrite your older version without the content in the library being lost.

I'm not sure why you can't upgrade unless you dont have administrative rights to your computer. I have service pack 2 with windows xp and I have had no problem upgrading itunes. I just opened itunes clicked on the help, then clicked on check for updates and if there was one I clicked on update.

Do what I did,

get a MAC...

Or seriously consider - does the current version of iTunes work for you? Why change something that works?
