Here's your answer....click on "Start" down at the toolbar. Then click "run" and type in "msconfig" into the box and press enter. a bigger box appeared, right? do you see the tab at the top that says "startup"? Click that. you should see a list of oddly named programs and some you recognize. Look for "limewire" and uncheck the box next to it. Click "Save" or whatever is at the bottom of that screen, maybe "close" and when it prompts you to restart the computer to save changes, go ahead and do that and it should solve your problem. Email me for additional info if you can't get it.

From the Limewire FAQ
---------------
Special Problems and Known Bugs
Q: LimeWire starts all by itself without me even clicking the icon to open it! When, I close it, it opens up again. Does my LimeWire have a mind of its own?
A: Yes, LimeWire is a sentient being. Just kidding! You have probably been infected with a worm. There is a worm called "Alcra" that has been circulating among Windows systems. It spreads by launching LimeWire so that other users on the network can download infected files on to their computers and continue to spread the worm to yet other computers. Please upgrade your virus definitions so that it can be detected and removed from your computer. Due to the speed at which new strains are released, your anti-virus software may not be able to detect it. In that case, you would either have to remove the worm manually or submit it to the manufacturer of your anti-virus software so that new virus definitions can be created.

I can solve all of your startup problems with Startup Guard. Its free and works with the ace utility or without. When you install and run it the first time, it will ask you to check yes to all of the items. Check no to the ones you do NOT want running. If you get Ace Utility, You can turn things on and off. Ace is a 30 day trial but I have the key. You will have to wait when rebooting your computer for the verification to come up for run commands to run at reboot. This is great for those times when others want to change your home page also. It will ask you to allow or deny.

Uninstall and reinstall again. If it doesn't work, then looks it might be a virus.
