My friend has a Xp and I have a Vista. Her computer seems to be better than mine. I am just learning to use a computer so can you tell me did I make the right choice or should I have gotten a Xp too? The Vista is the latest system......right?

I love old DOS games, and play them on my windows XP through "dosbox" emulator. But I hear an actual DOS computer runs the game smoother. Is this true? If so, what computer do you advise I get? A DOS computer? Or would Windows 95/98 due? THANKS!

I have to do my taxes and last year i used Quicktax 2006; everything went fine. Today I can't find the Quicktax 2007 software. Does this mean that the 2006 version is OK also for 2007? If it is not, are there any other good alternative software(for 2007) to do your taxes.

(by the way, I live in Canada)

Today everything owned by Microsoft seems to have ground to a halt. Normally I don't ask questions but this is beyond my Internet knowledge.

Internet Explorer seven refuses to connect to the Internet yet Firefox is working fine
Windows Live mail has been blocked
I can not log onto Msn Live
My Media Player version 11 crashes before I can click on music to play it.

I am in the process of downloading the whole lot again, but nothing seems to work.

Has anyone else got some ideas:

For general reference I have Xp home S.P 2
I have scanned for virus, spyware and adware

So what is happening, it is only Microsoft applications.

I want to upgrade to Vista Premium. I make archival copies of all my DVDs so I can save the originals from damage. Will Vista allow you to copy DVDs? Will it block copying?

I just bought new compaq with Vista basic preloaded. When I download my favorite poker site I can play until I log out. When I return, click on icon it says site is already running on pc try rebooting. That doesn't help. When I click on icon in systems tray it says error. I've done all the updates suggested by vista tech help. One guy told me to go to poker site support I did they told me to go to vista lol. Then the last guy told me it was a compadability problem. Can I download new xp pro disk over vista? No one seems to have an answer to my vista problem.

When I'm typing something sometimes the cursor jumps backwards and if you don't catch it you incert letters into words you already typed. Why is this and how do I fix it???

I am using Microsoft Office Mac 2004, and none of the applications are opening. There are no signs of them opening other than the opening animation on the dock for a second. I have run into this problem in the past, and after just waiting the apps would open. Please help!

In outlook when I click on new message the new window is always maximized. How do I set it so that the new message window is smaller then maximized. I have resized it and held down the ctrl key while exiting which makes any new message window that size until I close outlook and then it's back to the maxmized size again when I open outlook and try it.
