Office on Mac not opening?

I am using Microsoft Office Mac 2004, and none of the applications are opening. There are no signs of them opening other than the opening animation on the dock for a second. I have run into this problem in the past, and after just waiting the apps would open. Please help!

I'm using Mac OSX 10.3.9, and a while ago it became snitty about what it would open. Sometimes I can open a file or app with a double click, sometimes I can't. Then I highlight it, go to the File menu and select Open. Have you tried that?

You didn't have a trial version of Office that expired, did you?
