When you save a document you've created in Works Word Processor, save it as a .doc file - drop down the file type menu in the Save As dialog box and choose Word 97/2000 .doc file type.

You can also convert all your previous .wps documents by opening them and saving them as new .doc files as described above.

I think a wps is a WordPerfect document, not Works.

I don't have Works, but see if it offers you the option to save it as a text file. Most word processing programs can open them.

Open your file
click File
Save as

at the top of the dialog box, save in, click the down or up arrow to get to the desktop

at the bottom, filename, give it a name
below that, filetype, click the down arrow and see if you can choose txt.

If you can, you will be saving a copy of your Works file in txt format on the Desktop.

Open the txt file
see if you can click File, scroll down to Send to Mail Recipient

If Yahoo is your default mail, you will get the Yahoo e-mail window.

I would appreciate knowing if this works for you.

MS Works did not work for me either. No one could open my docs. What I did, was put the material in the Word that comes with Windows, most of the time. Later, I bought a copy of Microsoft Office. You can get a basic version, which does not cost much. This will allow other users to view your attachments.

Very few people can open .wps files as Microsoft Works is not highly popular. Also, as one answer suggested, it is NOT a WordPerfect file, that is .wpd. The best suggestion I can give you is to save the file as text before you attach it. Then download, install and use Open Office, a free office suite that contains everything Microsoft Office does. That way, whoever you send it to can open it with Word, or with Open Office or even Notepad.

because Microsoft Works is garbage and maximum archives are despatched over the web both as PDF or note archives. i imagine Microsoft must have made Works nicely matched with workplace - and coated note if no longer some thing else of the courses - yet spend some hundred quid and get a replica of MS workplace - or get a replica someone isn't making use of anymore. human beings are upgrading from workplace 2003 to 2007 and the former is more beneficial useful.

When you save the file in Microsoft Works save it as a .txt file instead of a wps file. File Save As / Change the file type to .txt...

Good Luck
