I currently use Windows ME ( I know), and was going to upgrade to XP, but now that Vista is out should I go to that or just switch entirely to a MAC? Thank you for your advice.

Get Vista. The only major problem when Vista was released was the lack of compatible drivers, and that problem has pretty much been fixed by now.

Well, if you want the Mac OS you'll have to buy a Mac, so that's obviously the more expensive solution. Then again, if you're currently running ME then I'm assuming you're planning to buy new hardware, so you'll still be shelling out some cash (although PCs are cheaper). Also, if you aren't familiar with the Mac OS you'll have a learning curve, just like you will with Vista. In that sense it's a wash.

The bottom line, I think, is what do you do with your computer? If you're interested in graphics work or music creation or video creation, a Mac may well be a better fit for you. But if you're into gaming, go with Windows. If you mostly surf the web and do some light word processing type stuff, any OS (Linux included, which would allow you to hold on to the old hardware and not pay for anew computer) would do. The advantage of a Mac (or Linux) is that it will be less likely to get a virus or other malware. Still, Vista is designed to be more secure than XP, but I'd say the Mac and Linux still have the edge there. The biggest advantage to Windows is that there's more software.

If you have the money, I'd say get a Mac. Unless you're a gamer, and then it's Windows all the way. Or try installing Ubuntu on your PC (http://www.ubuntu.com/) and see what you think of it.

Here is my best advice. First, decide what you are going to be using your new computer for. Here is a little bit of information between the differences of Vista and Mac. Vista and Mac are two completely different worlds. Vista is mainly a big update in graphics and software. Many of the software in Vista can read more files and won't do the, "Not Responding" as often. Vista is more for people who enjoy gaming. Mac on the other hand, is more for the serious worker. One that likes to work on media files, keep track of account, and even just type documents. Mac has pretty much everything that Vista has, because a lot of features from Mac was copied onto Vista. Mac has almost all the features that Vista has and has less chances for errors to occur. As I said. Vista = Gamer, Mac = Serious Work That Actually Needs To Be Accomplished.

If I had to chose between the two, I would definitely choose the Mac. But before you buy, read reviews all over the Internet on the advantages and disadvantages of each computer.

Don't buy Mac nor Vista, XP is the best. it is cheaper and as good as Mac, I have both XP and Mac, cause I work with 3D and all that stuff, both of them work the same, I mean excellent, with 3D but XP cost me less and the softwares for PC's are cheaper. actually most of the softwares i have on my PC are free, and I don't get viruses on any of them, even though i like erotic sites (you know what I mean) and for those who answer "buy a mac" please don't answer if you don't know anything about computer, I bet the only thing you do is surf on the internet and put music into your iPod.

Mac. No viruses. New Intel Chips. User Friendly. iLife (Comes with every mac). Good tech support. Runs laps around PC's in evrything. Mac OSX (Best operating system known to man).
Vista. Buggy. Slow. Unresponsive. Horrid tech support. Billions of viruses.

Hope That Helps
