I love old DOS games, and play them on my windows XP through "dosbox" emulator. But I hear an actual DOS computer runs the game smoother. Is this true? If so, what computer do you advise I get? A DOS computer? Or would Windows 95/98 due? THANKS!

Windows 95/98 featured "restarting PC in DOS mode" so they would work just fine on those operating systems.

I know exactly what you mean. I am also a big fan of the old side scrolling DOS arcade games.... LOL .. gotta love em !

Luckily I have several old 486s & Pentiums to play these games on.
Yes ... they do seem to run smoother on the older processors.

Perhaps you can find one somewhere for only a few dollars.
Good luck.
