Usually when I select the Freehand button and trace around the picture to cut it, it would make a dotted border around the part that I traced aroun the picture. But now, everytime I trace it and double click on it, it would load for awhile then the dotted border goes aroud the entire picture. What am I doing wrong? I use the point to point selection

is acting up..Now it locks up on adobe reader files and will not unlock until i hit restart and push the off button or unplug it...then as it is reopening it said something about ccAPP running and "font capture" running? Also to open a new word document ,I hit it once and grey sheet,..have to close and open again to get a white sheet.??Added Norton Internet Security 2007.Still sometimes says "Report errors to microsoft?" every once in awhile? Anyone know what is going on with it?

Ok I'm designing a system and need an IIF statement in a query. Basically, I want to give a 10% discount with an order over £10 and need an IIF statement to multiply the order cost by 0.1 (10%) if order is £10 or over. Anyone know what to do? thanks!

I just reformatted my laptop computer, reinstalled windows, and got all the latest updates for a nice fresh start. That took a bit of work. So I was wondering how to back all this effort up. How could, if I needed to, I simply reformat the hard drive, and insert a backup disc, copy the files over, and be completely restorred.
I think NERO does this. But I only have a cd/dvd combo drive and cannot burn dvd's. I'm using about 8gb of the notebook's hard drive now, and would like to copy it to 2 dvds.
I have a large usb external hard drive, and a second computer that has a dvd burner.
Is it as simple as copying all the files from my notebook hard drive, over to the external usb hard drive, then burning to dvd? If I copied these files back to the blank/formatted hard drive on my notebook, would windows(xp home sp2) work? Doesn't registry files and other hidden stuff not transfer well?

my microsoft outlook 2003 used to remember email addresses, so that when i start to type a person's name or email address, it would auto complete it. but a while ago, it stopped remembering any more. it still remembers the ones from a year or so ago, but nothing since then. i tried adding people to the contacts, but that doesn't work.

it remembers it while it's loaded, but as soon as i close and reopen (say when i turn the computer off each evening) it forgets.

so how can i get outlook to remember the history of previously used emails?

I'm trying to watch a video, but everytime it says it needs video codecs and it plays only the sound with no picture. I downloaded DivX and when I try to open again it says error and closes. I tried other video players like windows media player and real player but nothing works. is the problem with my system and how can it be fixed? thank u

I have a home premium vista key, but no back up disc, i can get a back up disc from work ( the computer is used for work ). but the work copy is one of the business vitsa's. If i install the business one but use the home premium key will it work ( ie install home premium?), and how do the keys work in relation to 32 and 64 bit?

I solved the previous problem and now , there is no check box next to component !!!!!, I try to highlight the component instead and I do click next, which it shows the progress of installing, but,,but it doesn't ask for XP cd,, and when I check the Administrator tool, there is no sign of the component I expect to install !!!!!!!!

I have managed to solve the sever previous problems which even I couldn't load the add/remove windows component, and getting this message instead [ the netoc file cannot be loaded, error message ' 0x2 at line 2088999592 ' ]

I do appreciate any help.

I recently downloaded openoffice and have since saved some documents for which I used openoffice. The problem is just that I am on a computer with Microsoft Word today and the openoffice documents won't open. Could anyone please tell me in which format I should save the openoffice documents if I want to be able to open them using Word?

Upon starting Outlook (2003 running on Win XP) I receive the following message.

"The data file 'Archive Folders' was not closed properly.

This file is being checked for problems."

I have received this message before but only when I've abruptly shut down Outlook (say using Task Manager). Now I'm receiving it every time I open Outlook. Any suggestions?

MAIL client, and if yes, what can be done about the loss of this all-important command that for many has been the backbone of Outlook and OE?

Details: My email messages saved in various folders function like a research libary, and the command "Find Message in this folder" can be used just like a search engine, but even better, because you can look for partials (like George Washi) I use that comand maybe more than anything... But now that I've upgraded to (new/improved)Vista (eMAIL,) I see (in my install) that this command is GONE!!!!!!!!! Any practical/helpful/serious answers???
