I have heard that macs defrags hds automatic, but I hate automation, so I wonder is there a program that I can run monthly or weekly without mac autodefrag? I wan't to see and know what is going om with my hd.

OK, you're a neat freak! that's OK... I understand!

BUT you will never find a good program for defragging your mac! Because the OS does it such a good job.

In the pc world there are lots of really pretty programs that shuffle your sectors while displaying pretty patterns, But not for the mac because there's no reason for them , and no profit in writing defraggers!

It can't rather be refrained from having a digital macintosh software or by utilising getting a hacked unlawful version of tiger for x86 (which probably wouldnt be very sturdy in any case) in case you may pay a hundred money for tiger, why no longer in hassle-free terms pay 3 hundred money for a used mac mini on ebay which might contain the OS too?

Its not really a defrag program, but check out Onyx.

Its freeware from Apple. and we run it every morning here at work, just to keep our Macs running error free.
