my microsoft outlook 2003 used to remember email addresses, so that when i start to type a person's name or email address, it would auto complete it. but a while ago, it stopped remembering any more. it still remembers the ones from a year or so ago, but nothing since then. i tried adding people to the contacts, but that doesn't work.

it remembers it while it's loaded, but as soon as i close and reopen (say when i turn the computer off each evening) it forgets.

so how can i get outlook to remember the history of previously used emails?

Go TOOLS

eMAIL OPTIONS
ADVANCED eMAIL OPTIONS
towards the bottom - SUGGEST NAMES WHILE COMPLETING... must be selected. :)

Yes, because I still have both of them.... at work it's always been the same, and at home we've switched providers 2-3 times, but managed to keep the first part. I get emails from teenagers, and am highly amused by some of their email addresses, tho!

OMG, I can't even tell you mine, its way to embarrasing....But I do still use one of my first ones. I've always been the type to have several emails, and still do, right now I have at least 7 email accounts, i'll give you two i've had a while--a_farewell2kings, and permanentwaves....
