I mean creating the image of a cd or dvd for burning in the future.

You need to create images using any image editors. If you are planning to use the image for icons, then you need to save them in .ico format. You can use paintbrush/Paint that is freely available along with windows OS, or you may use Photoshop for more effects on your images.

using neuro select the files you want to create an image and then while selecting current recorder select the image and your files would be copied into that image file and later on you can burn a cd using that image file. Similary if you want to create an image from a cd select copy cd option and select the target drive as image and the data from the cd will be copied on to that image file . Hope you got right.
