I'm trying to watch a video, but everytime it says it needs video codecs and it plays only the sound with no picture. I downloaded DivX and when I try to open again it says error and closes. I tried other video players like windows media player and real player but nothing works. is the problem with my system and how can it be fixed? thank u

use VLC media player. It has all the codecs. You can also get K-lite codec pack.

i think all ur avi file format is compressed or it can be format for cell phone but u have a option just go to www.lonelycatgames.com and download the codec there given. it is of 8mb approx. now install that codec. i think ur problem will be solve by this codec....

Download klite codec pack 235 or 120. Install it on your system I think your problem will be solved.

your problem isn't unique it's something to do with an argument about who owns the codecs for avi files and now they want you to pay for them the way I've got around it is to install the software for my digital camera the camera does short movie's in avi format so lets me play them my camera's a Fuji try their site you may find software that'll let you play avi files have a look http://www.fujifilm.co.uk/technical/type.pl?id=2&folder=1
