Software - February 2007

I bought my laptop last summer and it did'n't come with microsoft office 2003 but it came with microsoft works instead so I used that for typing my papers. Now, my classes require that I use power point, excel, and word which my laptop does not have. I used this three month trial of microsoft office meanwhile but expired last month. I don't know if I should purchase the real thing or upgrade to office 2007. What should I do?

i have tried rebooting wont work tried formatting using a 95 startup disk wont work my xp disk wont recover or format says cant find my drives i downloaded a programme and that caused the prob i think i have a virus or its changed my computer.
i also hve a ide controller card running my hard drive and i think the problems there any advice would be appreciated i have avg and norton antivirus

Hint: I run an internet cafe program that keeps track of sales, and time, so the matter is that my employees are breaking throught my program by pressing the Ctrl-Alt-Delete option which opens the stations which banns the Server from keeping track of such usage. Thanks!

i have Vista Home Basic, i installed it on my pc and i uninstalled it, it was running slow and the majority of the programs wasnt running, so thats why i took it out, now i tried to install it on my other pc, it installed but i had to Activate the key i couldnt because i already used it on the other one, so it said i had to purchase another one, now i skipped the other pc, now i am planning on installing it on the pc i first installed it on, i wanna know do i have to purchase a new key or i can just use the same one since it is registered on my pc(i am assuming)?

My company has 2 offices. We were talking today about having the ability to give remote access to our computers to each other so that when we need to share information or just look at the same thing we will have an easy way to do it. We would like to have 2 levels of permission:

1) Gain access the display from remote computer with users permission.
2) Gain access to the entire computer from remote computer with users permission.

A built in voice chat or text chat feature would also be great. The ability to allow several computers to see your display at the same time would also be beneficial.

Does anyone know of a program that would be good for a company for this? We have about 20-30 computers that would need this software.

Has disappeared. Went to control panel, sounds, and tried to get it back. Message comes up saying to go to add/remove programs. This doesn't work. Can't find it on my restore disks. Sound works fine, but I can't control the volume. Even tried a system restore back to the first restore point. Planning a reformat soon, but where did this go?? I even had someone send me the volume file. If I click on it, it opens up the volume control, but I can't get it to install into the right folder and work. Help!

Ok purchased a Hewlet packard laptop about a month ago now with Windows XP MCE preinstalled, and free upgrade to Windows Vista (home edition or something I think) , Ive ordered it online through Microsoft Upgrade Web, anyone know how long it takes to arrive in the post? And Also shall I install it straight away or wait untill the 1st service pack is released?
