My blank CDs are the older 650MB kind and the Ubuntu Desktop ISO image is like 716MB. It's cool that they got the essentials down so small. But I'd like to get going on this without buying new CDs. Anyone know of where you can get the image broken into two CDs rather than one fat one? Thanks.

I could be doing something on my computer then out of nowhere it will freeze. Then when i try to click something it will beep and the remain frozen. Then a few seconds later the screen turns all weird..like plain and looks like i am using the first color computer invented. And pictures either are shades of purple, red, blue or they are just plain black. It says the sis something stopped working properly..its this a virus or is my graphics card messed up..please help! it has happened tons of times today and i always have to restart my computer..thanks!

i've installed a game which has a cd-key.when i tried to uninstall it a message came saying "universe32.exe not found".i tried to reinstall it, when a message came saying"previous installation found, uninstall and try again".i removed the program manually from the root.still the problem is persisting

I just purchased a Windows XP disc, to upload to my laptop...but I LOST the registration number sticker, as I threw away the package wrappings! Is my new software totally unusable, or can I somehow get a new number or way to register it?

It is eating up a lot of my cpu resources, i checked the "sharing" under system preferences and made sure that windows sharing wasn't checked. I don't know where to look or what it does or if it will cause system unstability if disabled.

I downloaded IE7 and started to install it, right not im using firefox...but anyways when installing it get to the finalizing stage of the process and then pops up and says could not complete installation you must restart and a trouble shooting guide will be on the desktop when i restart, now i cant even get my older version of ie to open...and it would let me do any updates from microsoft because it say you have to use ie to get the updates, any ideas on how to fix this?

I have windows xp home edition that is not working up to par because of a recent crash. I want to install Windows xp pro, however, the upgrade price it states is $185 (approx) and just the OS is 300 bucks. Is XP Home to Pro an "upgrade" and will it cost 185 dollars? Or will I pay 300 bucks. I don't understand what they consider an upgrade.
