AVG is NOT offering its free version anymore after January 2007. I keep getting a pop up notice about this every single time AVG updates itself on my free version.

I suggest Zone Alarm or Windows Defender. Zone Alarm offers free & a paid version. I've had both & both work decent. I'm more pleased with Windows Defender. It updates as often as AVG does, about once or twice a day, & is COMPLETELY free. It's found spyware & adware that Zone Alarm, AVG & others have missed that I've had. I have Windows defender listed as the first source below. Zone Alarm is the second source link.

Norton & McAfee are big money & time wasters. Why pay for their second rate anti-virus software when you can get BETTER for free?

Try

Zonealarm Pro (15 day trial) or Zonealarm

Lavasoft Ad-Aware

Maybe a trial of Symantec Norton Antivirus 2007 or Norton Internet Security 2007

I still think McAfee is better though. Their new 2007 version is better than 2006.
