Now it might be best to do this..
You could try the System Restore which takes you back to a time when your computer was working good. Go To:
start
programs
accessories
systems tools
system restore
This process is completely reversable. And does not remove your personal files. Just go back one checkpoint at a time until your puter is working good again.
You may need to reinstall any recent software programs, but it is a quick fix when you dont know what else to do.

By manually removing from the root, you've done exactly what you wanted. It's been completely removed. The only reason it shows up in Add Remove Programs is because the registry key is still there (normally removed during the automatic uninstall process). If you want that gone, you'll need to find a registry key cleaner.

Go to control panel and use the add/remove program feature and if that doesn't work restore settings to a previous default setting. The program may have associations with other programs so unistall all not select features.

registry cleaner or you can try to create a new windows user name and install the game there. sometimes each user has their own dedicated user registry from the all registry. try it if not then try the first method.

What's the game called? I'm sure if you search your registry for it, you can erase the keys it left behind.

Start - > Run - > Regedit [F3] to find.
