I have Windows XP CD and ive installed it but i havent got WORD EXCEL or the others but those 2 are the ones i use most

I have got windows media player (11) it plays (meg) files but it will not play (avi) files even though it should. Does anyone have an idea of how to fix this problem. I just keeps on saying windows is not responding.

I've been trying to creat a website for free. i know I can do it. The once I did later start sending some pop-up adcert and some banners coursing the webpages to be crowded. Can you please send me any link that can help me build a free website without banner or pop-up adds?

i'm gonna install linux on a formatted harddrive using fat32 file system..

a couple of question..


will linux work on fat32 or is it going to use its own file system which is .....?


and also how can i start the installation.. do i need a linux start-up disk which i can find by the name....?

I have windows xp home edition and have windows media player 10 on the system. This is home recorded material of a piano performance on DVD -R recording. WMP keeps giving message that I need to install DVD decoder which is only available (per microsoft) thru vendors like Cyberlink/Sonic/InterVideo... etc. for 30 to 40 $, Is their a better way or different DVD player a person can download or a DVD decoder that is available as free download. Any suggestions or help is appreciated. I am using a desktop computer-Dell- Pentium 4 CPU 2.8 GHz with Windows XP Home Edition.Thanks- DKG

My pc has been running a bit slow, it seems to take ages to boot up, I have checked in the task manager and I have got 40 processes running. Seems a lot??? And I dont know which ones are safe to close down. I have been looking at a program called registry mechanic. Has anyone used this, or know of something better?? As someone who is not a PC expert any advice would be most welcome..

i have seen lots of screenshots from peoples pc's that have a black backround (like the bar at the top of a folder, that is blue in my pc) im not sure if it was for windows or that other thing linix or somthing. from the few screenshots i saw there was a windows icon on the bottom bar where the start menu is

I've scanned my computer with spybot search & destroy , panda activescan & avg anti-spyware but to no avail.


My computer is actng very slowly. it takes a long time to open folders and programs. sometimes my computer freezes for 10 seconds.

i think it's spywares/viruses.
but what programs should i download to remove all these viruses and spywares.

I have an FLV file I want to convert into an MPEG so I can edit it in Windows Movie Maker. Is there any free software I can use to do the conversion? All I'm finding is demo software that will only let me convert 90 seconds worth of video.

Follow this:
START button, then go to
HELP AND SUPPORT , go to
PERFORMANCE AND MAINTENANCE...under performance and maintenance ...go to
TOOLS (not the tools button in menu bar)
inside Tools, go to
ADVANCE SYSTEM INFORMATION....please look for the
"VIEW FOR THE ERROR LOG"

Hey guys

I have just downloded the most recent episode of Prison Break. This is in a .avi file and when I click on the file (it is on windows media player) I can only hear the sound in media player and no pictures. Any ideas?
