I assume you are using Windows? if you are, then run the System Configuration Utility [SCU]. You can do this by clicking on Start, then Run, and then typing "msconfig" [without the quotes]. Once the SCU window opens, click on the Startup tab. From the list, uncheck the programs that you do not wish to start automatically when Windows opens. Click OK.

Go to start-run-and write in run box "services.msc". There you can stop programmes which are installed automatically by windows.Look very carrefully at what service you don't need.
If you wan't delete programmes from startup write in run "msconfig". In start-up tab you have all the software that start automatically when windows starts.

go to start-->run .. type MSCONFIG, go to STARTUP ( the last option) and uncheck the program u want to stop launching automatically when windows starts.

wich programs? messengers if you go to tools options you can set them to not start on startup (prefrences) if you g start all programs startup you can delete everything thats in there and they wont start
