Software - August 2006

How do I install it? Should I install it? What version should I get? Can I still use the programs I already use on Windows on Linux? I hear about more and more people using Linux, and I want to know if I should be one of them.

and I think I deleted some needed files. For example I can no longer see my avatar picture, it's just an X in a square. I don't look like an X in a square. I also have an old Windows 98 computer and when I try to add some stuff back in that I took out, it tells me to load the Win 98 CD-Rom and I don't have it! AND..Can delete Cookies? H E L P!!???

Why bother answering a question with a single word or just an insult, i mean i know there getting points for it but why do it if they don't get some sort of enjoyment out of it. Am prepared for the worst now! but hopfully some decent answers as well.

I am running Windows XP Professional Edition on an older system and I recently disabled a bunch of the services in order to make it run more efficiently. Basically, if I didn't know what it did, I disabled it. Now the scroll wheel on my mouse is no longer functional. Which of the services do I need to enable in order to make the scroll wheel work again?

Hi,

I'm running winxp english version and nero 6.
when I try to burn my chinese favorites song, nero automatically change all chinese font to alphanumeric.

how can I keep all my chinese font when using nero to burn into a DVD?

Whenever I try to open a .pdf file from a website, my IE shuts down. It only happens when a site tries to open a .pdf in the same window or a new window, not when I try to read a file I've downloaded. It used to work just fine! I have the newest versions of everything, but I get an error message telling me my browser needs to shut down and "sorry for the inconvenience." I just want it to work like it used to! *sob* Any advice?
