i just got a floppy disk in the mail and i try to access the info on it and it says "this disk has not been formatted " if i format it will it delete everything on the floppy disk also how do i access the info without formatting it???

Also, I was trying to download 'Shockwave' from the BBC site. I ask it to download and I get the small red 'X' again and it won't download. Any ideas? It should already be apparent that the only thing I know about computers is how to turn them on and off, so don't assume I've looked at the obvious solutions! Thanks!

1- Has a quasi-professional domain (Yahoo doesn't sound really professional, and I hate gmail.. something like techmail.com or whatever)

2-Has pop access

3-Has "last login" information (with their IP and the time)

I am in the Engineering field so any "techie" e-mail or nerdy e-mail would suit me just fine!!

Any suggests??

My Windows XP Pro is a copy, it was already installed on computor when i bought it second hand. Everytime i switch on a prompt tells me to either buy genuine now! or resolve later. I click resolve later everytime and everything works o.k. after that. I get all my updates that Microsoft won't send on Limewire. I never send error reports. Can i do this indefinately or can Microsoft send anything to shut me down? Pop-ups also keep coming up telling me i'm running counterfiet software. Is there any way to stop the prompts and pop-ups besides obviously forking out 100 quid or so for genuine XP?

I want to put the photo of my friend inside a bubble. I have the image of a soap bubble (jpg) and the image of my friend. How do i do it? If i paste my friend's image on top of the bubble, it doesnt look as if it is INSIDE the bubble.

I prefer a download manager but need one compatible with IE and Firefox AS WELL AS compatible to one-click music purchases from online music providers or configurable so that the O/S download default downloads songs and not the download manager. I constantly have problems getting a Download Manager that works with all applications. Mostly what happens is that we I click on a song purchase, the music site tells me to disable my download manager, which is a hassle. Whice Download Manager is the fastest, the best, and is it worth it?

I have a manuscript with two leading pages that should not have footers. Then the rest of the document needs the title and page number at the foot of each page. I can do the title and page number footer just fine, but how the heck do I keep it from carrying back to the two first pages? Have tried separating the manuscript into two sections, but that did not work.

Sometimes I just want to bite Bill Gates' leg off!!

In Jurassic park - the fat computer dude had a cool feature on his computer if you were looking closely. As soon as his mouse was moved over a window - the window jumped to fore/became the active window. In Windows I've only seen bringing a window to fore with mousing over AND clicking. Any way to bring to fore with just a mouse-over? I'm using XP. And if you happen to know.. Any way to do this in Linux?
