already looked in the recycle bin .

I haven't done this in a while but there should be a DOS command undelete, still under windows XP. But I can't explain you you do it. If you know DOS, go into command prompt, in the folder where the files are, and type UNDELETE. It will ask you if you want to undelete the file. You have to either give the file a name, or complete the name of the file, or remember the file name. It's been a long time. You might want to look in the Recycle Bin first.
