my biggest concern is with the hardware requirements ... i know for sure that the new directX10 is vista-only which i assume new games and videocards will require vista to function fully ... i get a feeling the new operating system will quickly be forced on us if we want anything new to work right ... im also worried about some harddrive encryption scheme that vista has that has a built-in backdoor that could allow microsoft or the govt to access ur harddrive at will when online ... not sure about any of this though so i suppose i will wait and see how others are doing with it before i decide to download me a copy hehheh... kinda bums me out coz i like xp just fine.

I'd feel more secure becaue then all the virus makers and hackers would concentrate more on hacking Vista than XP.

I don't think it will be too bad b/c I think Microsoft will offer incentives to switch, i.e. a lower price or free upgrades.

In the tech industry, one will never be up-to-date.
The only constant is "change" and "obsolescence"
