I used to have limewire on my comp but then it would never connect to the net so i uninstalled and deleted it. Now when i try to install it again it gets half way and then freezes whilst 'installing java' and it never gets past this point? Any ideas how i can get it to work or how i can get hold of another reliable program to download music with?

The CD-R that I have work just fine, but when I try to burn stuff to the CD-RW it just won't work. And I know I have a CD-RW drive.. When I burn stuff to it, it seems to be working. But once it finishes and I put the CD-RW back in to see if there's files and stuff on there, there's nothing. I burned music using Windows Media Player, and it seemed to work too. And there was actually a file on there.. but it didn't play... =// Whyyy??? I'm getting really frustratedddd. Please help. =]]

I have an old computer that has had the backup partition wiped, and it did not come with a restore disk.

What operating system would you recommend that does not cost anything? How about Linux and what versions are the best? Can you provide links?

I would like a version that works well with my existing windows software and drivers for my hardware. The computer is a Compaq, and it is 1.6Ghz, all the normal hardware from that time period.

Ok, I don't know much about these softwares.
I use Mozilla Firefox 2 access the net but after my CPU was serviced, I lost it. Now I've 2 access it thru internet explorer.It is unsafe. Plz tell me how to install Mozilla.

When I play Sims 2, every time i have a baby, toddler, or kid, every time i try to save or go shopping, the application crashes. I WILL deinstall and install, but any tips on solving it without that?
(I have all extension packs and rather wouldnt have to re-install EVERYTHING!)

In MS Word, I reopened a document. Less lines are fitting on a page than I saw the last time I opened the document, but the margins are shown to be the same, the paper-size is also correctly the same, I touched nothing. What happened? What to do?

In MS Word I have a document with page-numbers restarting at ‘(page) 1’ at new sections. How do I specify printing for pages in section 2 (or 3...)? I have unsuccessfully tried naming the pages as the nth pages in the total document (you might have thought that would work).
