Sounds like a bad connection, have you tried changing the servers you're trying to update from?
I also found a related issue with spybot and Norton firewall.
Remove Spybot from the list of 'programs' in your Norton Firewall. Start the update again 'Norton' will prompt to permit or block Spybot accessing the Internet. Permit 'Spybot' and VOILA, everything works. If you use any other firewall like 'Mcafee' do the same thing, remove 'Spybot' from the list of programs and it will work. Disabling the firewall only may not work.
If you are using Norton firewall you should consider just using the Windows XP firewall located in the properties of the network connection you're using!

this is a normal error that happens with spybot,its due to a connection error and can be rectified by changing the download location,
tip....update spybot in the morning.....network servers are not as busy at that time

WSANO_DATA 11004 Valid name, no data record of requested
type. This error indicates that the key

There is aproblem with your connection. Actually I need to know how you are connected to internet. Are you in a local network, using proxy server or any firewall...?
