I used to have limewire on my comp but then it would never connect to the net so i uninstalled and deleted it. Now when i try to install it again it gets half way and then freezes whilst 'installing java' and it never gets past this point? Any ideas how i can get it to work or how i can get hold of another reliable program to download music with?

I love Limewire and I'm an avid user. If I want to download a music file I use Limewire always. you should get limewire too. It's a good peer to peer software if you have to download mp3, movies, videos or file.
Limewire is a safe and reliable program but like all peer to peer program you have to be careful of what you are donwloading from it. You always have to be cautious about what you download.
Don't use torrents/downloads from other sites, they might be backdoored.
I guess it's the sotware you need.

Don't even bother. I hope they are sued out of existence. Free music is NOT free.
Some of the world's biggest record labels sued the makers of the file-sharing program LimeWire on Friday, saying the software allows users to download music without paying for it.
The complaint, filed in Manhattan federal court, is the latest in a string of lawsuits the music industry has filed in an attempt to curb Internet piracy. download and install java 5.0 update 6 and install limewire again good luck

If I were you, I'd forget Limewire, I've used it and there's a wayyy faster P2P sharing client out there called "Bearshare"....ur gonna wanna download the "Lite" version cause it comes with no extra spyware etc..i think u can download it at "www.bearshare.com/lite"..check it out

It not stuck on Java, just wait for it like 10 mins. because the java big program require by limewire.

try ares .com it is good,or keep trying limewire,maybe lower ur security until u get it downloaded..under tools--internet options security..i really like the limewire...

your firewall may be blocking the download
turn it off to download then make sure that you put it back on if you have a good sercurity system when you download a song if it is a virus your computer will block it anyway it will tell ya its a bad virus thats what mine does anyway

it's NOT a safe program. Like getting a free beer on the corner at night, you never quite know what's inside it.
