In MS Word I have a document with page-numbers restarting at ‘(page) 1’ at new sections. How do I specify printing for pages in section 2 (or 3...)? I have unsuccessfully tried naming the pages as the nth pages in the total document (you might have thought that would work).

While you may have re-numbered your pages in different sections, I think the printer will only recognise page numbers as shown in the Page Status Bar in MS Word.
So if you are in section two, page one of your document, the Status Bar may be showing that in fact you are on page 20 (or other, depending on section length). What you need to do is note the MS page numbers, from the Status Bar, when you start and finish a section and set your printer to print those pages.
